Real life hasn’t left much opening for photographic work lately. I’ve been playing with gear and taking plenty of family snapshots and shooting kids’ soccer games, but that’s been about it. We did get (not too far) away to Monterey for a little family vacation before school started up, and I was hoping to make some time to shoot. Summer on the northern California coast can be pretty challenging unless you’re into shooting fog, however, and clear sunsets certainly aren’t the norm.
The fog does at least typically clear during the afternoon and during a drive down Hwy 1 to Big Sur one day I did manage to get one shot that I was pretty happy with. I do hate to see invasive plants, but the ice plant does add a splash of color here.
Fall in the Sierra Nevada can be really enjoyable. I really need to get back in the mountains once or twice before the weather becomes a challenge, so hopefully I’ll have more to share soon.
